Su-Ha-Ri has an active grading system with both adult and junior students being encouraged to take their next belt for their karate and personal development.

Gradings are held regularly each month (please see club calendar) at Hart Leisure Centre, Fleet, Hants. The time between gradings varies with each level but is three months for lower grades rising to 6 month and even years for the higher levels.

Junior Grades

• 9th Kyu - Red belt*
• 8th Kyu - Yellow belt*
• 7th Kyu - Orange belt
• 6th Mon - Green stripe
• 6th Kyu - Green belt
• 5th Mon - Blue stripe
• 5th Kyu - Blue belt
• 4th Mon - Purple stripe
• 4th Kyu - Purple belt
• 3rd Mon - Brown stripe
• 3rd Kyu - Brown belt
• 2nd Mon - Brown belt
• 2nd Kyu - 1 stripe
• 1st Mon - 1 stripe
• 1st Kyu - 2 stripes
• Black Mon - Black stripe
• 1st Dan - Black belt

Senior Grades

• 8th Kyu - Yellow belt*
• 7th Kyu - Orange belt

*Kata is not required for this particular grade. However, the student is still welcome at any kata course and would benefit from the experience. For kata course info please click here.

Grading Times

Junior students:

Taking red, yellow orange belt or green stripe - 12pm
Taking green belt - 1.30pm
Taking blue stripe and above - 1.45pm

Senior students/adults - approximately 2.30pm
